While we can't ignore England's temperamental weather, pounding rain and sweeping winds, we can dream up a wish list of sartorial choices for warmer climes and sunnier days.
Whether we're shopping floral midi dresses in preparation for Glastonbury, adding a flash of sunset orange to an otherwise navy wardrobe, or getting in on the mule action for lazy strolls in a faraway province, the team over here at Refinery29 have our sights set firmly on brighter days.
Click through and see what we're hoping (wishing, praying...) to be wearing this summer. Let's just wait for the weatherman to fall in line now, shall we?

Milk Tooth LDN is my new one-stop earring shop. From giant gemstones to '80s-inspired door knockers, it's selection are for making a statement. I'll be wearing these babies with my hair tied up so they steal the show.
Milk Tooth LDN The Pillar Earrings, £48.00, available at Milk Tooth LDN.

The ladies at Babyface are celebrating their 3rd year of profiling London's coolest women, hosting events, and collaborating with your favourite brands. Having worked with Illustrated People to create a limited edition T, they've now marked their birthday with a new piece inspired by Babycham - the most kitsch drink going, non? Grab directly from the founders over on Instagram.
Babyface T-Shirt, £15, available at Babyface.

Clio is one of London's most exciting designers, and her latest collection was a Romeo & Juliet-inspired love affair. Until her 'Love Rat'-embossed pieces are available to buy, I'll be layering silk slip dresses over this fierce tee.
Clio Peppiatt Fast Women Long Sleeve T-shirt, £50, available at Clio Peppiatt

Anna Jay, Art Director

I've been scouting for a pair of straight jeans that don't hug my calves like skinnies, and this pair from H&M is the answer. The thick denim is structured and they sit high on the waist – both priorities in a pair of jeans. White can be tricky, but I prefer to keep them casual with Vans and androgynous tees.
H&M Straight Regular Jeans, £39.99, available at H&M

This slip is going to carry me through the summer months, with a T-shirt for now and on its own come the sunshine.
Monki Printed Slip Dress, £25, available at Monki

Loose-fitting shapes work perfectly for an easy-breezy summer, and this jumpsuit will slide from workwear to Friday night G&Ts, no problem.
ASOS WHITE Fringe Panel Cami Jumpsuit, £85, available at ASOS

Chemmie Squier, Branded Content Manager

I love a white tee, especially one with a sequinned dinosaur on it. This with jeans, skirts, shorts... anything. I probably won't take it off all summer.
Zara Dinosaur Appliqué Short Sleeve T-Shirt, £12.99, available at Zara

I'm on the hunt for summer-appropriate shoes that aren't trainers (which I wear pretty much every day) and aren't sandals (for when it's not quite warm enough). I've settled on a pair of these classic desert boots, which I'm already picturing with a smock or midi dress. The question is – what colour?
Clarks Desert Boot, £95, available at Clarks

This with the desert boots!
Staring at Stars Embroidered Tunic Dress, £69, available at Urban Outfitters

I bought a ring recently from Zoe & Morgan and I really had to stop myself from going after a pair of their gold earrings, too. Sadly I decided that paying rent was more sensible, so now I just stare at these ones every day online.
Zoe & Morgan Boom Earrings, £170, available at Zoe & Morgan

Wearing all black, all day, every day gets a lot more challenging in the summer months, what with all the perky colours around trying to tempt you out of your carefully curated moody aesthetic. Luckily, dresses like this keep my gloomy sartorial dreams alive all year round.
ASOS Mini Dress With Lace Up Eyelet Waist, £28, available at ASOS

I've been looking for a pair of mules which are a bit different from everyone else's (also, a pair that hides my unseemly toes) and these, from Finery, seem like they'd do a stand-up job.
Finery Cortney Mule, £99, available at Finery

Meg O'Donnell, Photo Assistant

I ordered this for a friend's countryside wedding in Germany this July, and I am really rather excited to wear it. I'll be teaming it with some heeled clogs and a tiny little wicker basket handbag.
Missguided Exclusive Floral Print Frill Dress, £22, available at ASOS

The shape and the shade are rather enjoyable, aren't they? I'll wear these when the sun (eventually) comes out.
Monki 70s Style Sunglasses, £10, available at Monki

I recently purchased this little floral number with one thing on my mind: Glastonbury. Enough said.
Kimchi Blue Picnic Printed Off-The-Shoulder Midi Dress, £52, available at Urban Outfitters

Sheloa Nichols, Director of Content Production

This sea-green colour makes me think of strolling by the seaside eating sorbet, beach bag in hand. Heavenly. I also love how strong the bird claw design is – I like to surround myself with designs that make me feel happy and empowered.
Tessa Metcalfe Pale Green Quartz Claws Of Engagement Ring, £240, available at Tessa Metcalfe

These are dainty but sexy – I see them paired with worn, wide-leg, high-waisted blue jeans and a crisp white cropped shirt. A ready-for-anything outfit if you will. Also wearing them means it can't rain. It just can't.
Miista Laura Pink Snake Heels, £165, available at Miista

Donning this dress is like taking a field full of summer flowers with you wherever you go, and the silk fabric makes you feel positively floaty. The colour combo is also really flattering and brings out any summer glow you've managed to wrangle from our very shy sun.
Attico Natalia Floral-Print Silk Dress, £1,191, available at Matches Fashion

Natasha Slee, Social Media Manager

My wardrobe is strictly black, white, grey and navy, but I've recently discovered the wonder that is vermilion: the orangey tone feels less jarring with my usual monochrome garbs than cherry red. I'm quite unfussy and the current off-shoulder, frill trend isn't for me – this cotton A-line ticks all my boxes!
ASOS Bow and Tie Detail Sundress, £25, available at ASOS

A boxy denim jacket is my summer essential for throwing on when the sun goes down (ideally while sipping an Aperol Spritz on a rooftop). This camo number is the 2017 addition to my collection. The ENORMOUS pockets fit all my worldly possessions and camo print is surprisingly easy to wear. Plus it has already received a ton of compliments – winner.
Monki Army Jacket Camo, £40, available at Monki

Since Fashion Conscience Week on Refinery29, wardrobe sustainability and fast fashion hasn't left my mind. I'm not a big shopper, but I've definitely become more conscious with my choices. I bought these super-comfy German-made Birkenstock sandals towards the end of last summer, and don't need to replace them. They'll see me through many more British summers yet!
Birkenstock Arizona Sandal, £65, available at Birkenstock

Alice Casely-Hayford, Fashion & Beauty Editor

Hoping I'll stumble upon a goldmine in the coming weeks so I can treat myself to this beautiful dress, perfect for wafting around a chic summer party or a city wedding, though I'm sure I'd even wear it for a pub lunch/at any given opportunity, for that matter.
Raquel Diniz Olivia Floral-Print Pleated Silk-Georgette Gown, £965, available at Matches Fashion

I've had my eye on a Simon Miller bag for some time and this olive-green mini version would be the perfect evening bag.
Simon Miller Bonsai 15 Mini Nubuck Bucket Bag, £320, available at Net-A-Porter

As even my summer wardrobe consists of varying shades of black, navy and grey, these slides are a quick, easy (and comfy!) way to add a hint of colour to my wardrobe.
Zara Velvet Bow Slides, £39.99, available at Zara

I haven't stopped wearing these since the start of spring, come rain, shine or a hideous hangover.
Marc Jacobs Sunglasses, £110, available at With Sunglasses

This transitional piece is perfect during any season. The statement royal blue shade will look gorgeous with any outfit.
Aimee Kestenberg Genny Luxury Pebble Leather Suede Crossbody Bag, £164.88, available at QVC
